Jason Sangster
was born in 1975 and grew up in the suburbs surrounding Atlanta,
Georgia. While attending high school, he took his first photography class,
and from the very first click of the shutter was hooked. Two photography
classes in high school led to a major in Photojournalism and Studio Art at
the University of Georgia. Upon completion of his Bachelor’s degree, he
moved back to Atlanta where there were more opportunities in the field of
photography. He assisted several professional photographers for a brief
period before securing his current job as staff photographer and photo
editor for the international humanitarian non-profit organization CARE. He
has worked there for over 3 years. Within that time, he has photographed in
Afghanistan, Peru, Guatemala, Ecuador, and Rwanda. He has also photographed
in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and all across the United
States as well. His work has appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle, the
Atlanta Journal and Constitution, the Chronicle of Philanthropy, and Monday
Developments. He has had a solo exhibit at the REI gallery and has shown
work in group exhibits at the University of Georgia Fine Art Gallery, Moving
Spirits Gallery, and the Radial Gallery. |
